A free method for Check CPU Speed

Real CPU Speed is show on registry subkey,
Check CPU Speed is so easy that we can get it in a Minute. Although there are a number of Softwares to check a computer’s CPU speed, we don’t need download any Software to get CPU Current Speed and Max Speed.

We can use the system Information utility, DirectX Diagnostic Tool, the WBEMTEST test and System Monitor find CPU speed, but a convenient method is in basic registry.

A free method for Check CPU Speed steps

1. First Open the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0


2. Get our CPU Speed form ~MHz and ProcessorNameString

Check "MaxClockSpeed" and "CurrentClockSpeed"

MaxClockSpeed get from ProcessorNameString
ProcessorNameString: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.2GHz
My Maxclockspeed is 2.2 GHZ

CurrentClockSpeed get from ~MHz
~MHz: 0x000006a4 (1792)
My Current clock speed is 1.792GHz
